Overview
DigiAddress is a digital addressing system developed by 3E Technologies and Edoba Address Solutions (EAS). It provides concise, human‑readable codes that point directly to buildings and plots. The system was conceived in 2013 and launched publicly as an Android app in 2019. It is designed for fast adoption in countries without comprehensive street addressing.
Background
Many communities lack reliable addresses, limiting delivery, emergency response, and financial inclusion. DigiAddress was built to remove those barriers with a format that’s easy to learn, say, and type — and resilient enough to scale nationally.
Vision
A world where every home and business has a clear, shareable digital address — improving services, planning, and everyday life.
System Design
Example code: NG LS1 1AA
NG = Country (Nigeria)
LS = City/State (Lagos)
1 = Zone
1 = Rotation code
AA = Building / Location ID
Short forms are supported based on context: LS11AA (country implied), or 11AA (when already in Lagos).
Direct‑to‑building
Codes are assigned to specific buildings or plots — no house number required.
Permanent uniqueness
Every code is unique for life and not recycled.
Context‑aware
Shortening rules keep codes fast to share, while remaining globally resolvable.
Low‑cost rollout
Runs on commodity Android devices; simple training for rapid national scale.
How It Works
-
1) Capture
Field officers register buildings/plots with the DigiAddress Android app.
-
2) Verify
Monitoring teams validate data quality in real time using a bespoke app.
-
3) Assign
Unique codes are issued and reserved for life (no reuse).
-
4) Navigate
Users search and navigate via preferred map apps; in‑app offline routing is in development.

FAQ
How precise is a DigiAddress?
Each code is designed to point directly to a specific building or plot. Precision depends on input data during registration or auto‑generation.
Do codes ever change?
Assigned codes are unique for life and not recycled. Metadata (like names) can be updated without changing the code.
What if there’s no internet?
The app supports offline capture; a built‑in offline navigator is planned. Existing codes can be shared verbally or on paper.
How is this different from UK postcodes or Plus Codes?
DigiAddress begins with a country code and is designed to reference a building directly (no house number needed). It also supports local shorthand while staying globally unique.
